Student Life & Development
The Office of Student Life & Development (SLD) creates purposeful experiences for students that promote leadership, life skills, and personal development while enhancing campus life. SLD collaborates with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to provide innovative and intentional programs, services, and activities.
SLD works with chartered student governance organizations, 200+ registered independent organizations, and intramural sports programs. With the Campus Center Board, SLD has responsibility for the operation of the Campus Center, including Hemenway Hall, which serves as a community center for UH Mānoa providing services, programs, and daily amenities.

Established in 1953, the Campus Center Leisure Program is designed to provide students and the community with a variety of activities that compliments the academic experience by providing quality activities ranging from arts and crafts to outdoor recreation to approximately 10,000 individuals annually.

An integral part of UH Mānoa campus life, the Department of Intramural Sports, located in the Lower Campus, offers a wide variety of recreational activities. Students, faculty and staff can participate in various athletic venues - play basketball, volleyball, badminton or tennis; run on the track; swim in the pool; or use the University Fitness Center. Intramural For those with the competitive spirit, you can test your skills in our team and individual sports leagues. Intramural Sports also maintains an equipment check-out service for those students wanting to borrow basketballs, volleyballs, tennis rackets, and various other basic sports equipment.
